About the position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Kirkland, WA, focusing on utility-scale solar projects within the renewable energy sector. This role is pivotal as we expand our operations in the US, and it offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage various project management initiatives. The Project Manager will be responsible for the full project life cycle, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through to completion. This includes managing multiple related projects simultaneously, aligning them with the business's strategic objectives, and ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. The Project Manager will provide leadership to the project team, motivating team members to meet project goals and adhere to their responsibilities. This role requires the development and delivery of progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, and presentations to various stakeholders, including project teams and sponsors. The successful candidate will work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence. In addition to managing day-to-day activities and resources, the Project Manager will chair project management meetings, provide status reporting on project milestones, and monitor outcomes to resolve issues and conflicts. The role also involves coaching and mentoring project teams, supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment, and researching best practices to establish benchmark data for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SCADA systems for PV plants, knowledge of PV solar plant equipment, and experience with PVSyst for performance ratio determination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals.
  • Full project life cycle ownership from initiation to delivery of one or several initiatives simultaneously.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure alignment with business strategic objectives.
  • Ensure projects and programs proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Set and manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, and presentations to various audiences.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of projects.
  • Manage day-to-day activities and resources and chair project management meetings.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project and program teams.
  • Support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant project management experience in the Power industry.
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant/applicable industry experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Utility Scale PV projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • SCADA experience for PV plants preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with PV Solar plants equipment and systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of PVSyst for determining plant Performance ratio.
  • Good working knowledge of Substation design.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with various software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Projects, ProjectWise.
