About the position

The Project Manager at Primoris Engineering is responsible for overseeing the performance of multiple projects from inception to completion. This includes managing planning, scheduling, procurement, construction management, and subcontractor oversight. The role emphasizes establishing and maintaining client relationships, ensuring project profitability, and coordinating with various engineering disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Leading project teams and coordinating multiple engineering disciplines to ensure efficient use of staff.
  • Ensuring contract deliverables, schedules, and project budgets are met.
  • Developing Project Execution Plans, Client Reports, and other necessary documents.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, potential clients, and other staff.
  • Managing team efforts for proposals, work processes, presentations, contract reviews and other activities as appropriate.
  • Preparing proposals, assisting in presentations, and participating in contract negotiations.
  • Leveraging existing client relationships, creating new client relationships, and focusing on repeat work within each client Account.
  • Providing overall management of projects from concept to completion including siting, environmental, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, project controls, bid phase services, procurement, constructability reviews, material management, construction management, and closeout.
  • Developing and monitoring project schedules, managing scope, and controlling project costs.
  • Owning internal project financials, staffing/resource forecasts, legal coordination, risk management, change management, and human resource issues.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact with clients regarding project coordination, strategic planning, scope management, budget finances, subcontracting, project staffing, environmental compliance, facility support, and schedule attainment.
  • Managing all aspects of project communication.
  • Developing and implementing project policies and procedures and executing the project execution plan.
  • Directing and coordinating activities of several disciplines on a project of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects.
  • Working closely with the Project Team to ensure deliverables and services are provided to client's satisfaction and that projects follow internal QA/QC guidelines.
  • Reporting regularly on progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential impacts, and any issues requiring office support.
  • Traveling to client and project locations as needed.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in chemical or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience managing On Shore Facility EPC projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with the production of applicable engineering design and construction documents.
  • Demonstrated success in project management including proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
  • Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Professional Registration preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.
