About the position

The Project Manager - Procurement at International Procurement will play a crucial role in leading cross-functional projects aimed at supplier resourcing and relocation, particularly in support of cost reduction efforts. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring effective communication and coordination among various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional execution of supplier resourcing and relocation projects associated with Category Management Team cost reduction efforts
  • Provide support with execution planning (including key milestone timing) to Category Management teams for supplier resourcing and relocation projects
  • Lead expedited cross-functional execution of supplier resourcing projects to eliminate/mitigate supply shortages due to forced supplier exits or bankruptcies
  • Lead coordination of Procurement activities in support of major insourcing projects with Manufacturing
  • Develop detailed project plans and perform critical path analysis using Microsoft Project, as needed
  • Lead cross-functional resolution of a wide range of complex problems in innovative ways, including issues where precedent may not exist
  • Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
  • Coordinate cross-functional risk and issues investigations and mitigation
  • May instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to colleagues with less experience
  • Present project status to Senior Procurement management and Executive level audiences
  • Identifies needed resources for cross functional project teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • 1 year lead experience
  • OR Master's degree
  • At least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • 1 year lead experience
  • OR At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • 1 year lead experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a strong commitment to work
  • Familiarity with truck and/or engine products and components
  • A strong understanding of procurement processes
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for reporting and status updates at all organizational levels

  • Experience managing a project with cross-functional teams and suppliers in different regions / time zones / cultures
