About the position

The Project Manager (Product Line Support) at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense is responsible for managing moderately complex projects within the space systems portfolio. This role supports the designated Program Manager and ensures that all project facets are executed to meet cost, schedule, and performance commitments. The Project Manager coordinates work across various centralized functions, including engineering, supply chain, finance, and legal, to ensure project requirements are satisfied.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects supporting the LoB programs, particularly related to Product line and Business Integration.
  • Manage project planning, costing, scheduling, and provide regular updates to leadership of Space Systems.
  • Coordinate with multi-functional team members to plan, update, and execute against cost and schedule, with risks and risk mitigation, and within budget.
  • Develop detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and track and manage project costs against the spend rate baseline.
  • Proactively track leading indicators, identify issues or delays, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure successful program execution and business growth.
  • Coordinate with finance, contracting, supply chain, compliance, and security team members to ensure projects are managed per financial, contractual, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage internal, external, and international organizations to ensure strict adherence to timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, systems, electrical, mechanical or thermal engineering or other STEM related scientific field and/or business.
  • Five years of progressive experience in aerospace, systems, electrical, mechanical, or thermal engineering.
  • Experience in technical or business project management or of small teams.
  • Experience in Supply Chain/General Procurement.
  • Experience managing projects and teams for space flight hardware or technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in engineering or business field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
