About the position

Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a Civil Site Development Project Manager / Project Engineer in Mount Pleasant, SC. This position requires a strong understanding of civil site design and development, particularly with experience in water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure design projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing site development plans and working with residential, commercial, or industrial clients in a consulting environment. Regular interaction with clients is a key aspect of this role, necessitating excellent verbal and written communication skills. A working knowledge of Civil 3D software is also required to effectively manage and execute project tasks. In this role, the Project Manager / Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing civil site development projects from inception to completion. This includes managing project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities and an understanding of business metrics that contribute to project success. Responsibilities

  • Oversee civil site development projects from inception to completion.
  • Produce site development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Regularly interact with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.
  • Utilize Civil 3D software for project design and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design of public and private projects.
  • Experience producing site design plans and working with residential, commercial, or industrial clients.
  • Experience managing civil site development projects for residential, commercial, and/or industrial clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working experience with AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Understanding of business metrics for project success.
