About the position

The Project Manager for Project GRIT at the University of Central Oklahoma is responsible for overseeing the goals, activities, and requirements of the Oklahoma Project GRIT grant. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to implement initiatives aimed at enhancing trauma-informed education and mental health support within local education agencies. The Project Manager will facilitate data collection, manage project implementation, and ensure compliance with grant requirements, all while working under the supervision of the Project Director/Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision of project implementation as reflected in the project grant narrative.
  • Organize training on trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).
  • Support grant contract collaborators on training and communication plans for disseminating information to the school community.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts associated with professional learning and staff wellness.
  • Act as a direct contact for all project collaborators (LEA, UCO, & Subcontractors).
  • Manage selected grant cohort students and connect them to resources within UCO.
  • Support the development of trauma-informed practices at local and state levels.
  • Monitor and analyze school and community data with an external evaluator to create action plans.
  • Stay informed of trends, best practices, and research in Education and Mental Health.
  • Submit required grant performance measures and reports to the granting entity.
  • Assist in developing and updating practices related to multi-tiered supports and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Collect and report data about services provided in the area of student and school support.
  • Collaborate with various organizations to develop trauma-informed school services.
  • Maintain all grant records and manage day-to-day operations of the grant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in School and/or Professional Counseling, Education, Public Health, Educational Administration and Leadership, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of a valid Oklahoma certificate in Teaching, School Counseling, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in school-based mental health services and trauma-informed care.
  • Extensive experience with budget oversight.
  • Understanding and experience with grant project management and reporting.
  • Passion for education aligned with student and school support efforts.
