About the position
The Project Manager for Rail Construction & Maintenance at Peterson Consulting is responsible for overseeing the execution of various rail facilities, maintenance, and heavy civil projects. This role requires a strong background in civil engineering and project management, with a focus on coordinating teams and ensuring project success from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience in a self-perform environment and be adept at managing multiple disciplines to achieve optimal results.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete execution of Rail Facilities, Rail Maintenance, Heavy Highway & Heavy Civil projects.
- Oversee a team of Project Engineers and field management, as well as subcontractors and owner representatives.
- Handle pre-construction activities, project setup, cost control, and scheduling.
- Maintain full P&L responsibility and conduct risk analysis.
- Ensure safety and complete project oversight.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of Project Manager experience in Rail, Heavy Highway & Heavy Civil construction.
- Proven experience in managing projects from cradle to grave.
- Experience in managing self-perform forces in rail, mass excavation, underground utilities, paving, and structures.
- Familiarity with CPM scheduling in Primavera P6.
