About the position

The Project Manager for Rail and Transit at TYLin will lead complex transportation projects, focusing on enhancing mobility and sustainability within communities. This role involves managing project execution, mentoring junior staff, and engaging in business development activities, all while fostering a collaborative and diverse work environment.

Responsibilities

• Project Management and client management on transportation-related projects.
• Develop production work plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Act as the single point of contact for all client communications.
• Collaborate with other project managers and unit managers to establish contract budgets and scopes of work.
• Lead the Rail and Transit project team in analysis and design.
• Oversee performance of complex design and ensure proper codes and standards are used.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of other engineers and designers.
• Provide guidance and assistance to the design staff on projects.
• Ensure the successful completion of projects under direction.
• Perform business development, identify leads, and attend client marketing meetings and industry events.
• Serve as pursuit manager and lead author for marketing proposals and presentations.
• Lead or assist with contract negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• P.E. license in the state of California.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering and management experience in transportation-related design projects.
• Effective team leadership and project management experience.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive engineering reports.

Nice-to-haves

• Existing relationships with Chicago area transportation clients.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microstation software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
