About the position

The Project Manager - Rail & Transit at T.Y. Lin International is responsible for leading large-scale transportation projects from concept to completion. This role involves overseeing multidisciplinary transit design and engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet corporate quality standards. The position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to innovation in engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process for Design-Build projects, ensuring timely and budget-aligned delivery.
  • Oversee and manage project teams, including subconsultants, throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams for seamless project delivery.
  • Participate in business development efforts by supporting marketing strategies and identifying new opportunities.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals, including alternative concepts and solutions.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for project communications, coordination, and problem-solving.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Shape and drive project success from initial planning to final close-out.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and a State of New York P.E. license (both required).
  • A minimum of 12+ years' experience in engineering design management for Civil Rail and Transit or Transportation Structures projects.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills with a track record of successful multidisciplinary design projects.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of CPM scheduling, earned value analysis, and risk management strategies.
  • Experience with design contract commercial/legal terms and conditions.
  • Ability to co-locate in a project office within the State when required.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong commitment to innovation and ethical practices.
