About the position

As a Project Manager on the Railroad Bridge team at Olsson, you will lead complex and high-priority projects, ensuring successful deliverables and completion. This role involves managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets while coordinating with multiple teams to provide high-quality engineering and design solutions. You will serve as the primary liaison among all project stakeholders, monitor project performance, and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, tracking progress to manage financial success and ensure timely completion.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations.
  • Lead the execution of project plans by assembling and managing project teams, coordinating internal resources, and assigning responsibilities based on technical skills and expertise.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between all parties involved in a project.
  • Monitor progress and measure project performance to ensure deliverables fall within established scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage change requests, execute risk management techniques, and implement strategies to minimize negative financial impacts.
  • Coordinate detailed reviews of technical work to ensure high-quality performance and compliance with project contracts.
  • Maintain ongoing positive relationships with clients and focus on exceptional client service to secure future work.
  • Document all project deliverables and maintain comprehensive records including correspondence and design plans.
  • Mentor staff on project management best practices and utilize Olsson Project Management programs.
  • Adhere to regulations and enforce safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an Associate Degree with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience supporting railroad projects for CSX / CPKC.
  • Proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations through project management activities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Excellent client service orientation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and decision-making skills with the ability to generate innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • High-level organization, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Detailed understanding of consulting business operations and commitment to driving organizational success.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred.
  • Experience in Microstation, Risa 3D analysis, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving history.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required.
