About the position

The Project Manager at Nucor Steel Kankakee, Inc. is responsible for managing complex rebar projects from estimation to final completion. This role involves coordinating multiple detailers, products, and vendors while ensuring adherence to safety standards and company values. The Project Manager will oversee contract management, scheduling, and delivery of products and services, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Nucor's safety programs and standards.
• Review contract documents and coordinate detailing efforts.
• Provide total contract management for assigned projects.
• Oversee efforts to fulfill contractual obligations on projects.
• Coordinate project requirements with contractors and rebar installers.
• Schedule detailing and delivery of products and services with contractors and detailers.
• Review changes to projects and process appropriate documentation.
• Assist in the change order process and ensure customer acceptance.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff and customers.
• Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
• Work with Detailing Manager to control financial aspects of contracts.
• Formulate reports on work progress, costs, and scheduling.
• Cultivate a positive customer service environment while maximizing profits.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated rebar project management experience or at least 5 years' experience as a rebar detailer.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to apply ACI codes and CRSI standards.
• Experience in customer relations and resolving disputes.
• Basic knowledge of contract law and standard business practices.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• At least three years of experience overseeing detailers.
