Solu is currently seeking a Project Manager - Resource Development to join our client's team. This remote position, specifically for candidates located in Arizona, involves performing tasks associated with developing new power generation resource options to meet client needs. The role supports the coordination of internal teams and external consultants on resource development activities, which include site selection, land acquisition, permitting, siting, infrastructure, technology selection, conceptual design, and the issuance of necessary agreements. The candidate will be responsible for communicating analytical results and recommendations to various levels of management and stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned with project goals. As part of the Resource Development team, the Project Manager will focus on critical areas such as siting, permitting, conceptual design, cost estimating, scheduling, and other development efforts for generation resources. This position requires the ability to develop answers to complex, open-ended questions that involve significant uncertainty and ambiguity, with meaningful economic and operational implications. The candidate will conduct investigations and evaluations of future resource options to meet load requirements and achieve corporate goals, recognizing that these decisions have a direct and lasting impact on financial performance, reliability, and sustainability goals. The Project Manager will support project teams in the development of new generation resources, which includes site selection, land acquisition, transmission, fuel supply, water supply, permitting, siting, technology selection, conceptual design, cost estimates, schedules, and the issuance of necessary agreements. Presenting the results of analysis and recommended courses of action to various internal and external stakeholders is a key responsibility. Additionally, the candidate will directly assist in the development of others' knowledge, skills, and abilities, providing direction to analysts and engineers in the development of new resource alternatives. The role also involves analyzing the economic and operational impacts of environmental and other regulatory policy proposals and developing responses to these proposals on both a specific and state-wide basis. Participation in the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements and outright power plant acquisitions, as well as overseeing strategic competitive market analyses and business studies, will also be part of the job.
