About the position

As a Project Manager at Gensler in Atlanta, you will utilize your project management expertise and interpersonal skills to oversee and deliver exceptional client projects on time and within budget. This role focuses on managing multiple fast-paced mid-size projects, requiring strong project management skills along with the ability to produce drawings and specifications as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams for fast-paced, multisite design and implementation projects
  • Manage all phases, including project set-up, programming, design, and construction administration
  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
  • Engage directly with clients or client stakeholders to ensure approvals
  • Manage project scheduling, staffing/productivity, budgets, project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and consultants
  • Track the financial performance of projects
  • Prepare project proposal, negotiate fees and contracts for projects
  • Coordinate bidding process
  • Ensure projects conform to contract
  • Create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements
  • Actively support firmwide sustainability and resilience goals, guiding clients and project teams toward multi-benefit sustainable and resilient design solutions
  • Actively mentor the next generation of leadership by inspiring, empowering and leading by example
  • Champion Gensler's diversity and inclusion goals with respect to teammates, partners, and consultants

Requirements

  • 8-15 years' experience as a Project Manager (or Senior Architect with project management experience) within a commercial architecture and design firm managing multiple, fast paced projects simultaneously
  • Experience with commercial projects such as interior design and interior architecture for Retail & Consumer Experience spaces
  • Experience leading projects of a variety of scales, and mentoring and collaborating with Interior Designers and Architects
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal management skills
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents
  • Commitment to a collaborative design process
  • Experience negotiating project scope and fees
  • Knowledge of local building codes and standards
  • Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Licensed / Registered Architect + LEED accreditation are preferred
  • Proven experience mentoring and coaching junior team members
  • Proven experience building trust with clients and developing client relationships
