Project Manager / Scrum Master (Hybrid)

About the position

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Project Manager / Scrum Master to lead a digital software team in developing scalable enterprise applications. This hybrid role emphasizes collaboration with product managers, designers, and clients to deliver high-quality software efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and agile methodologies, ensuring project success through effective communication and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage each project's scope and timeline.
• Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups.
• Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration.
• Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders).
• Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests, manage deadlines, and push the team to ensure timeliness.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Ensure technical feasibility and resource availability.
• Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur.
• Help teams implement changes effectively.
• Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
• Maintain project time frames, budget estimates, and status reports.

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of experience in IT Consulting.
• Experience in a scrum master role and technical project manager role.
• Skilled in Scrum and hold a CX-Scrum Master certification.
• Familiarity with software development.
• Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid work model balancing remote and on-site work.
• Knowledge of Java project development and Azure cloud is preferred.
