About the position

The Project Manager/Scrum Master will play a crucial role in the Enterprise Project Management Office of a Fortune 10 healthcare company, focusing on a significant technology upgrade and modernization effort. This position involves refining and upgrading technology while optimizing business processes, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both business and technology teams.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate reviews and confirm project scope, resource requirements, budget, timeline, deliverables, dependencies, milestones, and plans.
  • Manage scrum team and lead scrum ceremonies, retrospectives, and refinement sessions.
  • Maintain focus on project risks and interdependencies, making contingency plans to proactively address concerns that pose risk to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders across multiple business/application areas for problem-solving and risk mitigation activities.
  • Drive results and resolve issues, assessing and course-correcting as necessary.
  • Facilitate internal and external meetings, ensuring clear and thorough documentation of status, issues, risks, budget, key decisions, root causes, and final resolutions.
  • Display strong organizational skills with attention to detail and sound analytical skills.
  • Show initiative by addressing issues without prompting.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of IT Project Management experience.
  • 3+ years in a Scrum Master role, managing scrum teams and leading scrum ceremonies.
  • Experience in the healthcare/insurance industry, with prior CVS experience being a significant advantage.
  • Experience in large technology modernization/transformation efforts.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Rally (or Jira), RTC, Clarity, or comparable tools for budget management.
  • Ability to manage Agile and Hybrid projects (Waterfall, Agile, Kanban, etc.).
  • Experience in developing detailed project plans, roadmaps, and executive presentations, particularly in PowerPoint.
  • Experience providing status updates, including risk and issues updates, to senior leadership teams.
  • Ability to drive both technical and business conversations.
  • Experience in handling large platform modernization efforts, specifically moving from mainframe to new technology.
  • PMP certification and Certified Scrum Master.
