The Project Manager for Equipment Production is a pivotal role within Honda, specifically focused on executing New Model and Business Plan project activities across various functions including design, manufacturing, quality, and production. This position is critical for achieving the quality, cost, and delivery targets essential for the successful launch of new models at production sites, particularly during large or multi-plant full model changes (FMC) or minor model changes (MMC). The Project Manager will be expected to influence cross-functional teams within the department and across respective plant locations, ensuring that all project goals are met efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Project Manager will lead the execution of Equipment New Model and Business Plan projects, ensuring adherence to the project general schedule and specified action plans. Utilizing technical expertise, the Project Manager will develop Project SAP and address any schedule delays or concerns arising from manufacturing overlaps with toolsets and projects. Effective collaboration and communication with all necessary entities, including PEBU, Global and Local Honda teams, as well as suppliers, are essential. The Project Manager will be responsible for communicating project status to all levels of management and will drive daily and weekly meetings to coordinate with support groups and other ADC business units. Additionally, the Project Manager will lead maturation adjustment activities to meet build events and mass production dates, providing guidance and direction on action achievement. They will chair evaluations based on technical and management requirements during the execution phase and will be expected to resolve any issues or conflicts that arise to ensure project goals are successfully achieved. The role also involves monitoring plant activities to proactively identify issues and develop countermeasures to enhance plant characteristics, competitiveness, and KPI achievement. As a subject matter expert, the Project Manager will also work to build the capability of less experienced project managers through training, coaching, and mentoring.
