About the position

The Project Manager for Equipment Production is responsible for leading New Model and Business Plan project activities across various functions including design, manufacturing, quality, and production. This role is critical for achieving quality, cost, and delivery targets essential for successful new model launches at production sites. The Project Manager will influence cross-functional teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration among various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of Equipment NM and BP Projects to achieve project schedules and action plans.
  • Utilize technical expertise to develop Project SAP and address schedule delays due to manufacturing overlaps.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all required entities across PEBU, Global and Local Honda, and suppliers.
  • Communicate project status to all levels of management and drive daily/weekly meetings.
  • Lead maturation adjustment activities to meet build events and mass production dates.
  • Provide guidance and direction on action achievement using technical expertise.
  • Chair evaluations based on Technical and Management requirements during project execution.
  • Resolve issues and conflicts to achieve project goals and targets.
  • Negotiate and influence outcomes with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Monitor plant activities to proactively identify issues and develop countermeasures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of total experience in relevant fields.
  • 5+ years in design, manufacturing, and/or maturation methods for equipment manufacturing.
  • 2-3 years in project leadership roles.
  • Proficient in MS Office and possess strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with experience interacting with executive management.
  • Familiarity with TQM style analysis and problem-solving techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring less experienced project managers.
  • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes.
