LHB's growing Public Works Structures and Survey group has an immediate opportunity for a Civil Project Manager / Senior Civil Engineer to work out of our Duluth or Minneapolis offices. As a Civil Project Manager, you will tackle local transportation challenges by leading meaningful projects in your community. The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to fostering relationships with existing clients while cultivating new relationships to drive organizational growth and strength through our public works portfolio. You will support project pursuits and proposals in the roads & highways and municipal markets that align with our current and future services. Collaboration is key, as you will work with other project managers, engineers, technicians, and landscape architects through LHB's hybrid work environment, which includes both in-person and virtual collaboration. You will monitor and track project budgets, staff utilization, and financial targets, managing municipal and roadway projects of various complexity, scope, scale, and budgets. Additionally, you will lead the process of responding to requests for proposals for professional engineering services from clients and may provide direction to ensure effective management of the construction administrative process of municipal and roadway design projects.

Responsibilities

  • Fostering relationships with existing clients while cultivating new relationships to drive organizational growth and strength through our public works portfolio.
  • Supporting project pursuits and proposals in the roads & highways and municipal markets that align with our current and future services.
  • Collaborating with other project managers, engineers, technicians, and landscape architects through LHB's hybrid work environment, which includes in-person and virtual collaboration.
  • Monitoring and tracking project budgets, staff utilization, and financial targets.
  • Managing municipal and roadway projects of various complexity, scope, scale, and budgets.
  • Leading the process of responding to requests for proposals for professional engineering services from clients.
  • Leading or co-leading public meetings and being a communication resource for public interactions.
  • Providing direction to ensure effective management of the construction administrative process of municipal and roadway design projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
  • 5-10 years of Civil Engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of MnDOT or MnDOT State-Aid and local agency specifications, design practices, and project assembly requirements.
  • Professional Engineer licensure.
  • Ability to evaluate, plan, direct, manage, communicate, engage, and oversee projects with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Progressive work experience directing and leading roadway or municipal projects in Minnesota.
  • Previous experience and understanding of roadway or municipal design using AutoCad Civil 3D or Microstation Geopak / ORD.
  • Progressive experience overseeing engineering team members.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client base.
