About the position

The Project Manager Series at Webasto is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project strategies, schedules, and engineering changes within the automotive industry. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance and availability of production equipment, while also maintaining effective communication with customers and stakeholders. The position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for flexibility between in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Program Strategy, master schedule, and part tracking system (PTS).
  • Schedule project review meetings with colleagues and customers to discuss engineering changes, bill of materials, scrap, warranties, and quality concerns.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage engineering changes and the PPAP process effectively at the plant level.
  • Develop timing commitments to teams and customers for engineering changes and improvement activities for cost reduction.
  • Report Project Status including sales, scrap, budget, Bill of Materials, and contribution margin.
  • Monitor and resolve product open issues with internal and external customers.
  • Facilitate and participate in product design, manufacturing, and tool kick-off reviews.
  • Represent Webasto as the interface with customer contacts to ensure program deliverables are met.

Requirements

  • U.S. Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Five (5) years' of experience as a Project Engineer, Program Manager, or in a closely related position in the automotive industry.
  • Three (3) years of experience leading cross-functional development project teams, planning and implementing series project activities, and preparing serial project status.
  • Familiarity with standard processes, methods, and tools of project management, as well as relevant SAP modules, PM Tools, and PEP.
