About the position

The Project Manager Sr. at Federal Health Products and Services (FHPS) is responsible for managing small to medium-sized projects across various business units and regions. This role involves applying project management skills to ensure successful project delivery, influencing organizational strategy, and mentoring project team members. The position requires effective communication and relationship-building skills to achieve project goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of simultaneous small to medium size projects across business units, regions, or the enterprise.
  • Apply project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems.
  • Lead projects across IT and Business Units, managing the delivery of both technical capabilities and associated operational readiness.
  • Influence at all levels within the organization, often setting strategy and direction.
  • Coach and mentor project team members and other project managers around project management methodology.
  • Determine project scope and develop resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans.
  • Develop training plans and secure contractual agreements for services and products.
  • Coordinate requirements, schedules, implementation, and post-implementation plans, and develop service-level agreements for vendor partners.
  • Develop requirements documents and project approval matrix.
  • Identify project team training and tool needs.
  • Define quality gates for each project methodology phase and establish critical success factors.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional project management experience, with at least 3 years leading and directing project tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues in a matrix environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to create an effective team environment and build strong relationships.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience working in a lead role on one or more projects.
