About the position

The Project Manager - Structural will assist in managing the structural design and construction of station structures, including elevator systems, across eight existing NYCT Subway stations in New York City. This role involves ensuring code compliance, managing work scope, budgets, and schedules, and developing relationships with stakeholders. The position requires coordination with MTA operations and compliance with federal and state regulations and industry safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction and Design Manager in managing structural design and construction of station structures.
  • Ensure code compliance throughout the program duration.
  • Manage structural design and execution of rehabilitation and repair work.
  • Manage work scope, budgets, and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders in partnership with program goals.
  • Assist with responses to claims, development of change order RFPs, and negotiation.
  • Manage design and construction in proximity to active MTA operations.
  • Understand and coordinate MTA and other MTA railroad operations.
  • Support project management scheduling and estimating.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and industry safety standards.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a directly related field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience as a Project Manager, Structural Engineer, or related position.
  • Two (2) years of experience in reading and understanding Construction Contract Documents.
  • Well versed with American Concrete Institute, American Institute of Steel Construction, and NYC Building codes.
  • Experience supervising large heavy construction projects valued over $100M.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing change orders, shop drawings, reports, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Experience performing field inspections.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of New York.
