About the position

The Project Manager for Substation at Black & Veatch will oversee projects related to high, medium, and low voltage substations, focusing on the deployment of solutions in the electric grid space. This role involves managing project execution, ensuring safety, and interfacing with clients and stakeholders to deliver impactful projects in a fast-paced environment. The position allows for a hybrid work schedule, balancing remote work with in-office responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safety culture within the project team.
• Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals for services work.
• Lead project team in conceptual design and procurement phases of substation projects.
• Manage schedule, budget, and scope of services for projects.
• Interface between the client, external stakeholders, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Work in both corporate and field environments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience including high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage substations.
• Experience in multiple phases of project execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree.
• PE, P.Eng or equivalent professional license.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with advanced manufacturing and generative AI computing projects.
• Familiarity with gigafactories, bio/ag tech, and data centers.
