About the position

The Project Manager - System PMO at UChicago Medicine is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of projects within the organization. This role involves planning, scheduling, executing, and closing projects while managing resources and ensuring alignment with project goals. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and team members to drive operational efficiencies and address business challenges, all while adhering to established budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates successful project delivery including planning, scheduling, execution, and closing of projects.
  • Manages project team members and third-party vendors to deliver solutions according to project scope and goals.
  • Oversees project documents and deliverables, reporting on progress throughout the project life cycle.
  • Identifies and manages project resource needs and goals, including staffing, scheduling, and communication plans.
  • Conducts project lessons learned sessions and creates recommendations for best practices.
  • Establishes project governance with key leaders and stakeholders to clear roadblocks and promote project success.
  • Guides teams in defining project scope, objectives, tasks, milestones, budgets, and measures of success.
  • Maintains project management guidelines, training programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, healthcare, or related discipline.
  • At least five years of project management experience.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of formal project management methodologies and proven execution skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Outlook) and project management software.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to execute project management leveraging Lean process improvement methodology.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization.
