About the position

The Program Manager supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) Aerospace Medical Research Division (AAM-600). This role plays a significant part in providing project management support for the Software Technical Refresh of the Toxicology Database (ToxDB), ToxFlo, and MANTRA applications. The position is part-time and highly technical or specialized in nature, requiring the Program Manager to provide technical consulting support as well as advanced technical design and specifications. As a federal contractor, CNI maintains a drug-free workplace and adheres to the Federal Controlled Substance Act. The Program Manager is responsible for identifying design requirements and proposing solutions as defined in the contract, ensuring that all aspects of project management are carried out efficiently and effectively. This includes reviewing project proposals or plans to determine timeframes, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and the allocation of available resources to various phases of the project. The role also involves maintaining solid customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction with the successful execution of projects. The Program Manager will manage and assist in developing and maintaining information technology programs and software programs for AAM-600, ensuring that employees apply their expertise on multiple complex work assignments that may require innovative solutions. The position requires the implementation of industry best practices, project management tools, and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all aspects of project management are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Reviews project proposals or plans to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Helps in the preparation of contract deliverables.
  • Prepares project charts and schedules as needed.
  • Performs job cost analysis.
  • Maintains a solid customer relationship and assures customer satisfaction with the successful execution of the project.
  • Manages and assists in developing and maintaining information technology programs as requested, in accordance with approved system/subsystem design requirements and specifications.
  • Manages and assists in developing and maintaining software programs for AAM-600, as requested, in accordance with approved system/subsystem design requirements and specifications.
  • Ensures employees apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments that may require innovation in determining how to accomplish the tasks.
  • Implements industry best practices, project management tools, and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
  • 25+ years of varied enterprise and government business experience preferred.
  • Experience with Department of Defense Trauma Registry and Joint Trauma System is preferred.
  • Experience with Primary Risk Management Framework (RMF) is preferred.
  • Coordinate, assign, and manage IT staffing.
  • Excellent concise communicator.
  • Problem analyzer and solver.
