About the position

We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join INNIO Engineering PMO & Operations Team. As a Project Manager for Technical Publications, you will manage program timelines, budgets, and deliverables through coordination with outside contractors for creation and management of Technical Publications. This role resides within the engineering organization and provides support for all INNIO Waukesha Gas Engine product lines. In this position, you will work closely with the Engineering Operations Leader and other stakeholders to capture project requirements and objectives, perform initial budget estimations, and identify potential project risks. You will also develop and maintain detailed budget and resource plans, ensuring that all project deliverables are met on time and within budget. Your responsibilities will include the development of Work Breakdown Structures and integrated Engineering schedules, as well as day-to-day project execution against these schedules. You will be responsible for the precise management of financials, applying controlling actions where necessary, and preparing project status reports for Senior Leadership by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Effective communication is key in this role, as you will facilitate communication between departments, ensuring action tracking and issue resolution through a standard meeting structure. You will also collaborate with Product Line managers and engineering platform leaders to ensure that technical publication targets are met, tracking budgets and timelines through project completion. This includes the creation of Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to update technical documentation requirements for Bill of Materials (BOM). Additionally, you will coordinate and manage the development of Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Parts Catalogs, and Repair & Overhaul manuals for new products and service kit offerings. You will also be responsible for managing manual corrections, updates, and addendums as needed, as well as coordinating translation requests to support new unit sales requirements. Your role will also involve maintaining and updating catalogs of Overhaul & Maintenance, Parts Book, and Repair & Overhaul manuals for active product lines, and developing Service Bulletin content by consolidating technical and commercial input from multiple sources. Finally, you will project manage the creation of electronic help documentation to aid in on-site diagnostics, supporting sourcing requests for print file uploads and internal uploads to the Customer Portal.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program timelines, budgets, and deliverables for Technical Publications.
  • Capture project requirements and objectives, initial budget estimation, and potential project risks.
  • Develop and maintain detailed budget and resource plans.
  • Create and maintain detailed Work Breakdown Structures and integrated Engineering schedules.
  • Execute day-to-day project management against pre-defined integrated Engineering schedules.
  • Ensure on-time project deliverables within budget and manage financials effectively.
  • Prepare project status reports for Senior Leadership by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management or experience with technical publication or training development.
  • Strong working knowledge of Project Management tools (Smartsheet, ServiceNow, MS Project, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and make priority calls.
  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent knowledge of the English language.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated project management, analytical, and strategy development skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and manage external suppliers' deliverables.
  • Organizational skills required to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; integrative team working style.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering process/methodology & technical understanding of reciprocating engines and components.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, quality, and assembly processes with experience working with the associated functional organizations.
  • Experience in engineering quality control and continuous improvement.
