About the position

We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join the INNIO Engineering PMO & Operations Team. As a Project Manager for Technical Publications, you will manage program timelines, budgets, and deliverables through coordination with outside contractors for the creation and management of Technical Publications. This role resides within the engineering organization and provides support for all INNIO Waukesha Gas Engine product lines. In this position, you will work closely with the Engineering Operations Leader and other stakeholders to capture project requirements and objectives, conduct initial estimations of budget, and identify potential project risks. You will develop and maintain detailed budget and resource plans in collaboration with Engineering Functional Leaders. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining detailed project Work Breakdown Structures and integrated Engineering schedules, ensuring day-to-day project execution against pre-defined integrated Engineering schedules, and guaranteeing on-time project deliverables within budget. You will be responsible for the continued identification, treatment, and retirement of project risks, as well as precise management of financials, applying controlling actions where required. Preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends will be a key part of your role, along with reporting project status to Senior Leadership. You will facilitate communication between departments, ensuring action tracking and issue resolution through a standard meeting structure. Additionally, you will ensure that set technical publication targets are reached by collaborating with Product Line managers and engineering platform leaders to develop robust budgets and timelines, tracking them through project completion. This includes the creation of Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to update technical documentation requirements for the Bill of Materials (BOM). You will clearly communicate program status, issues, risks, and plans to senior management via the Tollgate process, coordinate and manage the development of Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Parts Catalogs, and Repair & Overhaul manuals for new product and service kit offerings, and manage manual corrections, updates, and addendums as needed. Furthermore, you will coordinate translation requests to support new unit sales requirements and maintain/update catalogs of Overhaul & Maintenance, Parts Book, and Repair & Overhaul manuals for active product lines. You will also develop Service Bulletin content, consolidating technical and commercial input from multiple sources and coordinate appropriate handoffs as designated in the Service Bulletin Process. Lastly, you will project manage the creation of electronic help documentation to aid in on-site diagnostics, support sourcing requests for print file uploads, and manage manual fulfillment requests for new engine shipments and service parts.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management or experience with technical publication or training development.
  • Working knowledge of customer-facing documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Project Management tools (Smartsheet, ServiceNow, MS Project, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and make priority calls.
  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent knowledge of the English language.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated project management, analytical, and strategy development skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and manage external suppliers' deliverables.
  • Organizational skills required to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; integrative team working style.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering process/methodology & technical understanding of reciprocating engines and components.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, quality, and assembly processes with experience working with the associated functional organizations.
  • Experience in engineering quality control and continuous improvement.
