About the position

The Project Manager, Technical Services/High Voltage at SOLV Energy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of solar special projects, including solar repowering, complex repairs, and high voltage testing projects. This role involves project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and ensuring project success through effective leadership and collaboration with project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and take responsibility for significant scopes of self-performed work in partnership with project teams.
  • Develop safety plans and implement safety procedures with project teams.
  • Oversee preparation of project billings and maximize cash flow while reducing pay cycles.
  • Negotiate change orders with owners for timely resolution.
  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases.
  • Implement job procedures to assure timely buyout and material delivery.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management regarding cost forecasting and estimated cost at completion.
  • Manage, train, and supervise team members according to company policy.
  • Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with all terms.
  • Supervise documentation of significant project events such as accidents and delays.
  • Conduct warranty follow-up and complete project close-out procedures.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture preferred.
  • 5-8 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory skills.
  • Strong leadership ability to organize diverse team members in a remote environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, and construction ERP systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
  • Thorough understanding of project management control systems including scheduling and cost control.
  • General understanding of utility-scale PV plant construction methods and electrical construction components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of substation components is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and motivated self-starter.
