About the position

The Project Manager, Technical Services at NYSERDA will play a crucial role in advancing the state's clean energy initiatives, particularly in the area of decarbonizing existing buildings. This position involves supporting the design, implementation, and success of various Technical Services programs, while also managing projects and supervising contracted resources. The role requires effective tracking, processing, and reporting of project metrics, as well as engaging with stakeholders to enhance program participation and success.

Responsibilities

  • Support comprehensive business process development for new initiatives and refine existing processes.
  • Identify and create appropriate tracking and reporting of project and program metrics.
  • Process applications and program-related documents through NYSERDA's internal tracking systems (e.g., NEIS, Salesforce, Tableau, and Excel files).
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for program improvement.
  • Engage with market stakeholders, including vendors and customers, to understand their ability to utilize NYSERDA guidelines for participation.
  • Participate in a process to test, measure, and adjust to maximize success.
  • Present information on NYSERDA's behalf at professional meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Participate in multi-functional teams to develop and direct new efforts.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to NYSERDA's strategies and business processes.
  • Manage building projects, studies, and installations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience in business, non-profit, or government environments.
  • Above average organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Salesforce experience and understanding.
  • Experience with the development of standard operating procedures and participation journey mapping.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and concisely.
  • Familiarity with conducting operational and procedural type trainings.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Instinct for surfacing pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Above average Excel and data manipulation skills.
  • Data analysis and interpretation of trends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Energy-related experience, particularly with energy studies and low carbon master plans.
  • Experience with low carbon retrofit technologies and approaches.
  • Understanding the decision-making process of building entities, developers, and building operators.
  • Exposure to clean energy program creation and marketplace interaction.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the management of building energy systems.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Familiarity with energy-related metrics and conversions for reporting program progress.
  • Energy-related technical knowledge in commercial, institutional, or industrial sectors.
  • A Master's degree in engineering, business administration, or physical sciences with 4 years of relevant experience.
