About the position

The Project Manager for Technical Systems at EC Electric is a pivotal role that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities related to electrical project management. This position is responsible for overseeing various electrical needs from the initial marketing phase through to project closeout and customer follow-up. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in project management, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities that come with the role, including profit management, supervision, customer relations, and fiscal and contract management. In this role, the Project Manager will engage in project planning, execution, job cost tracking, and job closure. They will be tasked with providing monthly project status updates and percent of completion reports to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. The position also requires detailed take-off and estimating for electrical service, tenant improvement, light commercial, and light industrial work, which is crucial for accurate budgeting and resource allocation. Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for marketing and building profitable jobs, making critical decisions regarding project costs, timelines, and performance. They will also play a key role in cross-selling other company operations through fully integrated solutions, interfacing with contractors, vendors, and in-house operations to ensure seamless project execution. A strong emphasis will be placed on coordinating and directing the workforce while supporting a culture of safety and an injury-free work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Project planning, execution, job cost tracking, and job closure
  • Provide monthly project status detail and percent of completion reports
  • Detailed take-off and estimating for electrical service, tenant improvement, light commercial and light industrial work
  • Marketing & building profitable jobs
  • Decision making responsibility concerning project cost, time and performance

Requirements

  • 2 years' construction project experience in the regional market with proven record of successful relationships and marketing skills, preferred
  • Prior experience with design/build, BMS Controls or Fire Alarm preferred
  • Superior knowledge of electrical codes and construction methods
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and write contracts
  • Experienced in writing detailed scope proposals
  • Strong computer skills - Excel, Word, estimating software (ConEst a plus)
  • Excellent people, communication and negotiating skills

Benefits

  • Salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000 annually
  • Opportunity for a discretionary year end bonus
