About the position

The Project Manager for Technical Systems at EC Electric is a pivotal role that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities related to electrical project management. This position is responsible for overseeing various electrical needs from the initial marketing phase through to project closeout and customer follow-up. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in project management, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities involved, including profit management, supervision, customer relations, and fiscal and contract management. The role requires a proactive approach to project planning, execution, job cost tracking, and ensuring successful job closure. In this role, the Project Manager will be tasked with providing monthly project status updates, detailing the percent of completion for ongoing projects. The position also involves detailed take-off and estimating for various electrical services, including tenant improvements, light commercial, and light industrial work. A significant aspect of the job is marketing and building profitable jobs, which includes making critical decisions regarding project costs, timelines, and performance metrics. The Project Manager will also be responsible for cross-selling other company operations through fully integrated solutions, interfacing with contractors, vendors, and in-house operations, and coordinating and directing the workforce to ensure project success. Additionally, the role emphasizes the importance of supporting an injury-free work environment and fostering a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Project planning, execution, job cost tracking, and job closure
  • Provide monthly project status detail and percent of completion reports
  • Detailed take-off and estimating for electrical service, tenant improvement, light commercial and light industrial work
  • Marketing & building profitable jobs
  • Decision making responsibility concerning project cost, time and performance

Requirements

  • 2 years' construction project experience in the regional market with proven record of successful relationships and marketing skills, preferred
  • Prior experience with design/build, BMS Controls or Fire Alarm preferred
  • Superior knowledge of electrical codes and construction methods
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and write contracts
  • Experienced in writing detailed scope proposals
  • Strong computer skills - Excel, Word, estimating software (ConEst a plus)
  • Excellent people, communication and negotiating skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Electrical experience: 4 years (Preferred)
