About the position

As a Project Manager at Robinson Brothers Construction, you will be responsible for the overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of projects from the initial bid preparation through to completion. This role requires you to deliver projects safely, adhering to quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints. You will work closely under the guidance of the project management organization and support the Area/Regional Manager from our Prineville, OR office. Your expertise in project management will be crucial as you oversee the installation of fiber optic cable for leading communication companies in the Northwest and Western regions. You will apply innovative management techniques to maximize team performance and ensure that all aspects of project management, including project controls, contract management, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, negotiations, and safety, are executed effectively. In this role, you will also be expected to maintain a professional appearance and work well under pressure to meet deadlines while providing positive leadership to motivate personnel. Your ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, will be essential as you lead meetings and collaborate with various stakeholders. You will need to be organized and capable of prioritizing numerous tasks while being prepared to travel to project locations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of the project from initial bid preparation through completion.
  • Deliver projects safely, in accordance with quality standards, on time, and within budget.
  • Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize team performance.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Lead meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Organize and prioritize numerous tasks to ensure project success.
  • Confirm punch walk is complete and conduct post-job inspections and QA/QC.
  • Closeout all permits and ensure compliance with project specifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of actual project management experience in underground utilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management, project controls, contract management, budgeting, estimating, schedules, negotiations, construction management, and safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint).
  • Familiar with or ready to learn corporate systems such as JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, and similar platforms.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Project, P6, or similar scheduling software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
