About the position

The Project Manager position at Nidec is responsible for overseeing the transfer of manufacturing locations within the company. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution, meeting customer expectations, and managing project schedules, costs, and risks. The Project Manager will lead the planning and implementation of product transfers, ensuring quality and compliance with standards throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of product transfer from one manufacturing location to another.
  • Leverage NPD processes for applicable stages and gates.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of the overall product transfer.
  • Confirm project objectives while ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Create a team roster with commitments from other functional areas to assign tasks and review resource requirements.
  • Track financial aspects of the transfer with team members from Finance.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Ensure successful product transfer with appropriate quality and documentation.
  • Interface with internal departments, suppliers/vendors, and customers regarding program control and management.
  • Anticipate and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs; set new priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship due to military requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Quality background and experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full understanding of MS Suite, especially MS Project.
  • Understanding of quality tools and activities such as PPAP, First Article, Control Plans, etc. is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering discipline.
