Project Manager - Transit - Seattle

About the position

The Project Manager - Transit position at Hatch involves overseeing and managing transit-related projects within the North American Infrastructure group. The role focuses on effective utilization of staff, technical and contract analysis, project budgeting, and maintaining client communication. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while also developing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the effective utilization of professional/technical staff on assigned projects
• Perform technical and contract-related analysis, cost estimating, coordinating and monitoring project assignments
• Review and manage projects to ensure completion of work within schedules and budgets
• Maintain communication with clients regarding the project; forecasting staffing requirements
• Prepare scope of work, monitoring work progress and budgeting throughout assignment
• Coordinate the interaction of all subject matter experts, supporting staff and subcontractors
• Monitor financial performance of projects and make recommendations for corrective actions
• Develop new business opportunities and prepare successful technical and cost proposals
• Participate in client interviews

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University
• 7 - 10 years of progressive rail vehicle engineering and project management experience
• Diverse technical and contract skills
• Solid understanding of Train Control
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage, direct and supervise the work efforts of a professional and technical staff
