About the position

The Project Manager at Quantum Strides LLC is responsible for planning and managing IT projects for the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA). This role involves overseeing project teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The position requires a strong background in project management methodologies, particularly in software development life cycles, and the ability to lead teams through various project phases.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage small to major IT projects for MDOT and MDTA.
• Manage a team of subject matter experts, IT staff, and contractors.
• Assist customer areas in articulating requests for new systems.
• Develop and maintain project management plans for assigned projects.
• Prepare monthly project status reports for stakeholders.
• Manage change control, issues escalation, and resolution.
• Conduct lessons learned sessions as assigned.
• Ensure project governance and control are followed according to the Project Management Plan.

Requirements

• Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP) or equivalent certification.
• At least five years of experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Configuration Management, Risk Management, and Communication Management.
• Experience with various systems such as Asset Management, Budget Systems, and Project Management Systems.
• Prior experience leading projects using SDLC, Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
• Excellent contract management, coordination, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) certification.
