About the position

The Project Manager at Traffic Control Devices will lead project and construction teams in the areas of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), signing, signalization, and lighting projects. This role involves managing project schedules, resources, and budgets while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and schedule crews, project progression, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with clients, project superintendents, foreman, and other construction management to determine budget and timeline of the projects.
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
  • Create schedules for project staff and subcontractors.
  • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines.
  • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
  • Collect data and develop as-builts for projects.
  • Oversee safety operation of working crews.
  • Produce monthly billings and quantity tracking.
  • Access and implement safe work practices.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following guidelines, standards, and procedures set forth by Traffic Control Devices.
  • Represent Traffic Control Devices at meetings with project stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to read and interpret FDOT design construction, standards, drawings, and specifications for ITS, signing, signalization, and lighting projects.
  • Be familiar with all operations of construction with installation, testing, integration, full operation, and acceptance of the project(s).
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with an active medical card.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft suite products and Adobe PDF exchange.
  • Two-year college degree in construction management, engineering, or other related area or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervision role or higher.

Nice-to-haves

  • Business experience preferred.
  • Industry experience is a must.
