About the position

The Project Manager at White Construction is responsible for overseeing field operations and contract administration within the infrastructure construction sector, particularly focusing on safety, personnel management, subcontractor scheduling, and procurement. This role requires a strong emphasis on safety planning and effective contract management, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manage field operations and contract administration including safety, personnel, subcontract scheduling, material and equipment procurement, and schedule.
  • Implement safety planning in all planning and field operations activities.
  • Oversee contract management, identifying potential change orders and changes in scope or field conditions.
  • Create and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors, identifying and mitigating risks and cost overruns.
  • Plan applicable equipment types, personnel skill sets, means, methods, and update schedules accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate cost accounting, schedule impacts, change order logs, and communication logs.
  • Submit monthly cost to complete projections.
  • Manage contract value adjustments due to weather, changed conditions, and authorized change orders.
  • Report and compile weekly quantities completed in Viewpoint.
  • Complete budget changes accurately on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure all change orders are agreed, signed, and reconciled every 30 days with customers and vendors.
  • Update change order logs to verify current contract amounts.
  • Track and record purchase order committed costs accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil and bridge construction.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach to management.
  • Ability to find solutions to problems and manage effectively.
