About the position

The Project Manager at Columbia Helicopters Inc. is responsible for the operational management of small to mid-size development, capital, or legacy programs. This role involves overseeing program plans, budgets, and ensuring that projects meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements. The Project Manager will lead a team to achieve program goals safely and efficiently, while also serving as a key advisor to customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define scope/statement of work, activities, risks, and costs to develop program schedule and plan of action.
  • Review program plans and schedules throughout the program life cycle and keep stakeholders updated on changes.
  • Provide continual coordination of program progress to ensure goals and objectives are met.
  • Ensure program meets or exceeds plan deliverables and objectives, keeping stakeholders informed of execution progress.
  • Oversee administration of program budget, including control and monitoring of expenditures and preparation of reports.
  • Communicate directly with customers to update them on progress or delays.
  • Assist in developing new business or enhancing internal programs in collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, and other Program Managers.
  • Contribute to overall PM and quality management system process improvement.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in an aircraft maintenance or manufacturing environment in a decision-making role.
  • Associate's degree or greater in aviation/aerospace or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Prior program management experience, including knowledge of program management processes.
  • Knowledge and experience working within quality management systems.
  • Ability to assure compliance with program goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to develop contingency plans to address needs and risks.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.
  • Training and experience utilizing Lean methods in a production environment preferred.
  • Ability to lead program development, including needs assessments.
  • Ability to prepare budgets and reports as required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Rotorcraft experience preferred; military rotorcraft qualifies.
  • Ability to handle multiple programs simultaneously within stringent time constraints.
  • Innovative and results-oriented approach.
