About the position

ABM Technical Solutions is seeking a Project Manager for our mechanical branch, responsible for overseeing HVAC projects from concept through close-out. The role involves managing multiple projects of moderate to high complexity, ensuring timely completion in accordance with quality standards, and coordinating with various departments to maintain schedules and implement necessary revisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, control, communication, and coordination of HVAC projects.
  • Ensure HVAC/Energy projects are completed timely and meet established quality standards.
  • Develop and implement policies for project completion.
  • Coordinate with related departments to maintain schedules and effect necessary revisions.
  • Review, approve, document, and track contractor bids, RFI's, submittals, and change order requests.
  • Review and approve estimates for new jobs.
  • Provide guidance and support to the service team.
  • Inspect work to ensure conformance to specifications, schedules, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure contractors receive site orientation and training, and that all code requirements are followed.
  • Assign, train, direct, and appraise technical personnel.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction through effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Exhibit project leadership and effective decision-making throughout each project.
  • Monitor project budget, including labor hours and processing of invoices.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with Owners, Architects, and Construction teams, providing meeting minutes.
  • Document all before and after conditions with photos.
  • Provide End User training for staff.
  • Prepare close-out and turnover documentation and reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of large commercial HVAC, Mechanical, and Electrical project management experience.
  • Proven experience managing medium-sized projects with multiple subcontractors.
  • Extensive managerial and technical experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, procedures, and standards.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience with computer processing of costs and schedule information.
  • Well organized with strong planning skills.
