About the position

The Project Manager is responsible for planning and supervising a variety of construction projects from inception through warranty. This role requires organizing and overseeing construction procedures to ensure timely and efficient completion, while coordinating a diverse team of professionals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise construction projects from conception through warranty.
  • Organize and oversee construction procedures to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Coordinate a team of professionals from different disciplines.
  • Engage in business development to create project opportunities through networking.
  • Review schematic design documents for constructability and logistics.
  • Meet with owners, architects, and engineers during plan development.
  • Provide budgets and hard-bid estimates for various project types.
  • Create bid invites and track trade proposals.
  • Generate meeting agendas and minutes, and assist with project scheduling.
  • Maintain and update a complete submittal log and RFI log.
  • Negotiate contracts with architects, vendors, and contractors.
  • Communicate key specifications and requirements in meetings.
  • Oversee documentation of contractual requirements of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Direct project progress meetings to review quality, safety, and schedule.
  • Assist with site safety enforcement and resolve safety issues.
  • Perform project closeout activities, including punch list creation and document collection.
  • Manage all aspects of the assigned project within budgetary parameters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience with various project types.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with ComputerEase, Microsoft Project, and Procore software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in business development and networking for project opportunities.
  • Familiarity with construction methodologies and procedures.
