About the position

As a Project Manager in the Project Services group at NEI Electric Power Engineering, you will oversee various energy projects, including electrical substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy initiatives. Your role will involve managing project schedules, budgets, and documentation while ensuring quality control and client satisfaction. You will also coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, requiring periodic travel to job sites for inspections and client meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Review and manage engineering schedules, budgets, scope, and subcontractors.
  • Manage the collection, organization, and filing of all project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead project status update meetings with clients, providing schedule updates and reporting on engineering progress.
  • Ensure project quality control and customer satisfaction by reviewing and monitoring engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, Electric Utilities, and other clients to ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Manage and coordinate activities of internal teams of engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Support permitting and jurisdictional approval processes for engineering projects.
  • Manage utility interconnection processes for construction projects and related documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of industry-specific project management experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical substations, transmission lines, PV engineering, and battery storage.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CPM scheduling, and Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective exchanges during stressful situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by clear project plans and executive-level reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred.
