About the position

The Project Manager for the Development Studio at an award-winning international architecture firm will oversee medium-sized project teams through all phases of project execution, ensuring design quality and technical excellence. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients and contractors, while managing project scope, budget, and schedule. The position emphasizes mentorship, regulatory compliance, and maintaining project profitability, all within a dynamic and innovative studio environment.

Responsibilities

  • Guide medium-sized project teams through the entire project cycle.
  • Work closely with Principals and project teams to ensure smooth workflow throughout all phases of planning, design, documentation, and construction.
  • Manage medium-sized project teams and coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Develop and adhere to project scope, budget, schedule, and work plans.
  • Ensure design quality and technical excellence in project execution.
  • Handle all contractual and project development issues as the firm's representative to clients.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to develop and execute projects.
  • Mentor and train project team staff.
  • Advocate for design excellence both internally and with clients.
  • Oversee project approvals and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain project profitability and track accounts receivable.
  • Balance multiple projects simultaneously and apply expertise to progressively more complex assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture; Professional licensure required, LEED AP preferred.
  • 10+ years of design, documentation, and project management experience, with a focus on multifamily residential and mixed-use projects.
  • Experience with all phases of medium to large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams and working closely with clients, sub-consultants, and vendors.
  • Familiarity with building codes, zoning ordinances, and ADA requirements related to design.
  • Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility pertaining to fees, scope, and schedule.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software including Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio, Rhino.
  • Ability to independently develop and present functional project designs.
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious.
  • Strong initiative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
