About the position

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves supervising workers, coordinating tasks, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and effectively communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, and the project management team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily construction activities, ensuring that schedules, deadlines, and project milestones are met.
  • Manage and guide a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering teamwork and productivity.
  • Ensure all construction work aligns with blueprints, specifications, and quality standards, conducting regular inspections and addressing any deficiencies.
  • Enforce safety protocols on-site to ensure a safe working environment, addressing and reporting safety violations and conducting regular safety meetings.
  • Develop and adjust daily and weekly work schedules to accommodate project timelines, resources, and weather conditions.
  • Monitor and control site expenses, minimizing waste and reducing costs while maintaining quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily operations, labor hours, materials, and equipment used, and prepare and submit regular progress reports.
  • Coordinate with project manager and subcontractors to resolve on-site issues and make real-time decisions that align with project goals.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues on the job site, minimizing project delays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; a degree or certification in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficient with construction management software and basic computer skills.
  • OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Valid driver's license.
