About the position

The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of client software and services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves coordinating resources, managing communication with clients and stakeholders, and tracking project progress. The Project Manager will also be responsible for managing risks, ensuring quality deliverables, and facilitating a smooth transition of services post-implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the implementation project plan and conduct kick-off meetings with clients and staff.
  • Work with the sales team to understand contract requirements and site-specific information.
  • Manage all aspects of projects related to client software and services delivery.
  • Acquire and coordinate necessary resources to meet project needs.
  • Plan and track all project activity, guiding clients through release planning.
  • Track project hours and submit monthly project status reports.
  • Monitor revenue recognition and address concerns with management.
  • Manage scope, time, and cost to meet client commitments.
  • Facilitate communication throughout the team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality of project team deliverables and manage the project budget.
  • Document and report status and issues, identifying and managing risks.
  • Act as a client liaison, communicating feedback and resolving issues.
  • Conduct planning sessions with clients' key functional leaders to create management plans.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and assist with collections for delinquent accounts.
  • Monitor progress to ensure compliance with the project plan and notify parties of schedule changes.
  • Publish summaries of key dates and issues to all involved Tyler employees.
  • Obtain regular client feedback regarding project status and quality of service.
  • Anticipate and resolve roadblocks, including hardware and software issues.
  • Communicate completion of milestones to clients and secure formal acceptance.
  • Conduct post-project meetings with clients for smooth service transition.
  • Communicate regularly with implementation staff and management regarding schedules and revenue projections.
  • May manage implementation resources to maximize performance and revenue goals.
  • Maintain current project plan commitments and status.
  • Identify add-on sales opportunities and manage change orders or contract addendums.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience as an implementation professional or equivalent experience.
  • Proven project management experience is essential.
  • Experience in the Public Safety domain or with Enterprise Public Safety software is preferred.
  • Work towards obtaining PMP certification and maintain status after certification.
  • Knowledge of software life cycle and enterprise software.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong follow-through.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in using computers and exposure to IT infrastructure components.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical ability in a technical environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and persuasion skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
