About the position
The Project Manager position at Hussmann Corporation involves overseeing commercial on-site refrigeration projects, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction. The role requires collaboration with the Installation Manager and entails managing project needs, costs, and field personnel while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform building surveys of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment/controls and operational costs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with sub-contractors and prepare requests for quotations (RFQs).
- Perform construction plan reviews to meet customer facility requirements.
- Provide consultation in developing facility-related solutions for customer problems.
- Determine project needs and constraints to meet customer building system design and installation requirements.
- Prepare and finalize proposals, both preliminary and final.
- Manage on-site field personnel to ensure safety, quality, and timely production.
- Create detailed cost estimates for various project components.
- Analyze project needs and compile detailed cost estimates using plans and specifications.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage project risks.
- Clarify and adjust information gaps and scope deviations with the operations group.
- Maintain a quote log of closed, open, and lost orders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of related work experience preferred
- Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and/or commercial refrigeration and HVAC
- Strong leadership and business acumen
- Ability to manage small and large crews of construction professionals
- Strong knowledge of applicable construction/safety codes and regulations
- Ability to maintain high levels of customer service
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
