About the position

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing construction projects to ensure they are completed according to specifications, on schedule, and within budget. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of the project, including personnel, equipment, and materials, while adhering to company policies and procedures. The Project Manager serves as the primary representative of the company on-site, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders to achieve client satisfaction and project success.

Responsibilities

  • Make a thorough study of the project and discuss plans with Division Personnel and Management team.
  • Assess needs including personnel, equipment, materials, and time frame for performance.
  • Conduct internal scheduling meetings with Superintendents, Foremen, and Subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely submission of required documents to the Owner.
  • Conduct Pre-Activity Meetings prior to significant items of work.
  • Coordinate staffing needs with the Human Resources Department.
  • Supervise the Project Engineer and other engineering staff.
  • Familiarize with contract documents and specifications.
  • Review and approve all invoices, subcontractor payments, and timesheets.
  • Evaluate cost effectiveness of procedures and manage project budget.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain proper documentation and keep a detailed daily diary of the project.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and communicate with the Safety Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum five years' experience in the heavy construction industry.
  • Experience with bridge, roadwork, and DOT projects.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to direct subcontractors to achieve project goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with project scheduling software (P-3 at minimum).
  • Ability to maintain onsite project documentation and coordinate site work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
