About the position

The Project Manager will lead corporate Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) initiatives at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, ensuring compliance with Enterprise-level D&D requirements. This role involves coordinating the Environmental Liabilities Estimate, which is submitted semi-annually to the Department of Energy, and requires collaboration with site leads and financial services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in budget systems and leadership, with opportunities to interface with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide NNL-wide leadership and coordination for the Environmental Liabilities Estimate.
• Direct the work of four site leads.
• Interact frequently with NNL Financial Services and NR/NRLFO.
• Ensure compliance with corporate D&D initiatives and Enterprise-level D&D requirements.
• Interface regularly with Naval Nuclear Laboratory senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with the NNL budget system.
• Understanding of liability estimates.
• Leadership experience or a strong desire to be in a leadership role.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience with Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) work, including D&D Project Management.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including developing applications with complex formulas and linking workbooks using Power BI or Power Query.
• Experience in using and developing Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Lists.
• Experience interacting with Senior Leadership in both NNL and NRLFO.
• Experience in motivating and training others.
