About the position

The Project Manager at Allied Universal Technology Services is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling project activities related to electronic security installations. This role involves managing project budgets, scheduling, and ensuring the successful implementation of projects while maintaining effective communication with vendors and customers. The Project Manager will oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, while also driving profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain active communication with vendors and customers to ensure project profitability and customer retention.
  • Determine, allocate, and maximize resources through project planning to achieve sales and project management objectives.
  • Establish and maintain knowledge of industry practices and competitive landscape.
  • Implement changes in project plans, including estimation and submission of Change Orders.
  • Support invoicing and collection efforts by ensuring contractual terms are met and invoicing is completed accurately and on time.
  • Manage project budget and P&L responsibility.
  • Prepare project installation plans, determine goals, and implement job procedures.
  • Maintain construction schedules and coordinate task scheduling with other trades.
  • Keep records of job status, changes, and material flow.
  • Define project problems and assure project profitability through financial and contract management tools.
  • Plan and schedule engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities.
  • Supervise installation labor and subcontractors, prioritizing team workload for quality results.
  • Troubleshoot project issues and engage management and resources as needed.
  • Develop fallback and contingency plans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • At least six years of project management experience, preferably in the electronic security industry.
  • Proven track record managing projects over $4 million to schedule and budget.
  • Expert knowledge of project management techniques and tools, and general knowledge of contract laws and regulations.
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks requiring technical and business knowledge.
  • Factory certifications in relevant technology platforms are a plus (e.g., Software House, Lenel, Brivo).
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical decision-making capabilities and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the security industry is preferred.
  • Ability to conduct site walks and attend onsite customer meetings.
