About the position

The Project Manager at EDG Inc. is responsible for overseeing Electric Utility Distribution Projects, leading a cross-functional team of Design and Construction Engineers from project initiation through to closeout. This role involves managing project budgets, interfacing with various client departments, and ensuring the successful execution of a portfolio of projects aimed at improving and maintaining electric utility distribution infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional team in the execution of Distribution Projects from initiation to closeout.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
  • Interface with other client departments to address project needs.
  • Manage a program or portfolio of projects in a designated region.
  • Communicate with state or regional management regarding specific project needs.
  • Utilize client systems for cost and schedule reporting and management.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and contractors.
  • Develop Project Scoping Plans, Project Charters, and Project Execution Plans.
  • Provide weekly and monthly status reports to stakeholders.
  • Maintain electronic central project files and documentation.
  • Conduct lessons learned sessions at project completion and update the database.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of Project Management experience in Electric Utility, with less than Ten (10) years preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PMBOK required.
  • Familiarity with Primavera software (v6.0 or newer) and/or Microsoft Project (P6 preferred).
  • Construction Management experience in Electrical, Civil, or Commercial required.
  • Program Management experience preferred.
  • MBA, Master's Degree, or other Graduate Level Degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience managing project budgets from $250k to $100m+.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams through project completion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in municipal utility management.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
