About the position

Akkodis is seeking a Project Manager for a 6-month contract-to-hire position with a client providing a complete range of machine shop and fabrication solutions. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that customer orders are shipped on time. This involves a proactive approach to prevent discrepancies, identify bottlenecks and shop constraints before they lead to late deliveries, and understand the Lean Business Model to optimize product flow through all steps in the value stream. Effective communication is crucial, as the Project Manager will need to relay project statuses to customers and the Engineering Manager, as well as communicate project requirements to the shop floor and Quality Manager. The role also involves creating and modifying production routings and manufacturing work instructions, ensuring that all operations required to move components through the manufacturing process are clearly defined. The Project Manager will assume complete process ownership of assigned manufacturing or assembly areas, providing the necessary floor support and interfacing with other functional groups to resolve processing issues. Additionally, the role includes researching, specifying, or designing tooling and fixtures to aid in manufacturing and inspection, as well as performing industrial engineering tasks such as time studies and work cell development to improve product workflow and decrease lead time. The Project Manager will also support various special projects as needed.
