About the position

The Project Monitor is a member of the Vendor Diversity Program at the Harris County Department of Economic Equity & Opportunity. As part of the Inclusive Procurements Division, the Vendor Diversity Program ensures minority-owned, woman-owned businesses and businesses owned by disadvantaged individuals can compete fairly for County contracts. The Project Monitor is responsible for the daily operations of contractors overseeing progress of sub-awards and payments to minority-owned, women-owned and businesses owned by other disadvantaged individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees contractor submittals and database maintenance, resolves issues, conducts audits and develops corrective action plans when needed.
  • Utilizes and manages the contract compliance software for each assigned project preserving the integrity of the information and system.
  • Maintains records, uploads related documents, manages reports, monitors contractor/subcontractor utilization and reporting within the system.
  • Supports production of reports and presentations and other submissions required on the MWBE and DBE programs to Commissioners Court, the Federal Transit Authority, public reporting, and others as identified for Vendor Equity.
  • Reviews and maintains proper records for contract compliance and reporting requirements including subcontractor substitutions, recalculated goals, and sanctions, if warranted, to for the MWBE and DBE programs.
  • Works across department with peers in other groups to ensure collaboration for shared goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and three (3) years of experience in Contract Compliance, or a related field.
  • OR Associate degree in any field or 60 hours of secondary education credits from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience in Contract Compliance, or a related field.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License (TX upon hire).

Nice-to-haves

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in Contract Compliance, Construction, or a related field.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish.
